Platelet Rich Fibrin

Dr. Kim using PRF on a patient PRF centrifuge machine

PRF is a 3-D autogenous combination of Platelet Rich Fibrin derived from the patient’s blood. We improve the healing and recovery procedures by making PRF from the patient right at our dental office.

Platelet rich fibrin is a gelled membrane form made from a small quantity of blood taken from the patient just before their dental procedure. This blood is drawn in test tubes and then spun in a centrifuge which separates the blood into: plasma, red blood cells, concentrated white blood cells and platelets called the buffy coat. The buffy coat layer contains the healing and growth factors that we use to accelerate healing.

These products are then immediately placed into the surgical site. It is scientifically proven that this procedure develops better and faster soft tissue and hard tissue healing and regeneration. Because it is from the patient’s own blood, the produce is safe and there is less chance of infection, dry socket, failed implants or disease transmission.
